Welcome to Rafael Melendez Studio. I’m Rafael Melendez, an artist currently based in London. My work is deeply rooted in conceptualism, where ideas shape compelling drawings, objects, and artist publications. I blend influences from surrealism, appropriation art, and transgressive literature to explore complex themes and convey powerful messages.

In my practice, I aim to collapse various histories, weaving together different eras and styles to create a unique brand of neo-conceptualism. By integrating diverse techniques and a sense of humour, my work challenges conventional boundaries and invites viewers to explore the interconnectedness of our cultural narrative.
